The Social Sciences and Audiovisual seminar series explores the analytical and methodological value of moving images for the work developed by social scientists.

It seeks to show films with the participation of the researchers involved in their elaboration or with the directors in debate with social scientists.

The series is organized by 3 anthropologists and 1 film researcher, enriched by the diverse relationships they establish with the audiovisual. Gathered in an interdisciplinary institute, they aim to understand the various places of the moving image for the social sciences. Other researchers also join them occasionally, proposing a film or a theme for discussion.

The website allows to keep the thread of the progression of the series, which started in 2017.

The sessions are open to the public and take place at ICS-ULisboa.
